Win the winter wedding outfit challenge

Winter weddings seem to be getting very popular nowadays, with many couples opting for the winter wonderland rather than sun kissed spring ways to tie the knot. I have been invited to a friends wedding at the end of December and have been searching online for a nice dress that won’t look too ‘Christmas party’ and more ‘wedding guest glam’. Winter weddings also throw up more challenges in the outfit department than any spring/summer wedding does – you need to consider choosing a outfit that will combat snow, rain, wind, frostbite and is waterproof all in one! Then you need to match it with one of the current trends for coats this season – military style, capes, padded jacket, fur and long line. Its a challenge but fear not, there are solutions out there. I was also conscious that I didn’t want my dress to look too much like a bridesmaids dress too.

I’d recommend an online browse at Coast ( – their dress collections are on point this season and other options of A-line full skirts, lacey tops and coats make it a one stop shop for any wedding guest. After trawling through their site for hours to decide on my outfit choice and selecting an express delivery option, I received my beautifully wrapped dress this morning.

The luxurious Amore Satin Dress features a square asymmetric neckline and a stunning fit and flare shape. The skirt adds some drama and volume and the nipped in waist creates a sensational silhouette. I was so pleased when I tried on this dress. I wanted a colour that wasn’t black and wasn’t bright pink or too summery – this golden rose-gold effect is perfect.

To go all out glamour I also ordered this jacket from Coast. It’s fully lined and has a jacquard design with a luxurious finish. I love the high neck collar and clinched in waist. A perfect purchase to wear to the wedding with my new dress and also to keep for other occasions.
